The representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina Damir Djumhur will play against Marin Cilic from Croatia in the 1/16 finals at the Kremlin Cup.
Damir Jumhur
The 29-year-old Bosnian in the qualifying final yesterday was still able to show more confident tennis and beat Zdenek Kolar from the Czech Republic in two sets – 7:5; 6:3. We can say that gradually Jumhur finds his game, but he is hardly ready for a serious opponent.
Marin Cilic
The 33-year-old Croat has not played in tournaments since the end of August. In the first round match against Philipp Kohlschreiber at the US Open, Cilic was injured and eventually recovered for quite a long time. It is very bad for a tennis player that he has been without playing practice for so long, but in general, the tournament in Moscow should just help Marin get in shape, and the opponent in the 1/16 finals is not the most serious.
Damir Jumhur and Marin Cilic played together in May 2017 at a tournament in Istanbul. In that meeting on the ground, the representative of Croatia was stronger in two sets - 6:3; 6:2.
Forecast
After such a long pause, it will not be easy for Cilic to regain his condition, but still Damir Dzhumhur is far from the most dangerous opponent, and therefore the Croat should win this meeting.
