In the 1/16 final of the challenger in Forli, Italian Matteo Viola will play against Lukas Rosol from the Czech Republic.
The 34-year-old representative of Italy last week, of course, took part in the last tournament in Forli. Viola was able to reach the 1/8 finals, but there he got Maxim Kressy from the USA on the grid, who of course is much stronger. Viola was able to impose a more or less good fight on Cressy, but still lost in two sets – 4:6; 4:6.
The 36-year-old Czech representative also took part in the Forli tournament last week. Rosol reached the 1/8 finals, where he could not cope with Yuri Rodionov from Austria. Lukas also fought more or less well, but lost in two sets – 3:6; 4:6.
Matteo Viola and Lukas Rosol met three times, but it was a very long time ago. The last time the tennis players played among themselves was in 2013. In this confrontation Rosol leads with the score 3:0.
Lukas Rosol, despite his age, is still a more high-status tennis player, and Matteo Viola is not particularly younger. Nevertheless, we remember that not so long ago Rosol could easily reach the final stages on such challengers, and therefore here the representative of the Czech Republic should take his own.
