On December 9, the match of the last round of the Europa League group stage will take place, in which the Polish Legia will play at home with the Russian Spartak. The forecast for this fight is given by the famous commentator and journalist Vasily Utkin.
Both teams retain chances to continue fighting in the Europa League, but to achieve their goals they only need to win. In a slightly more favorable situation, Spartak, which in case of a draw, at least, will participate in the Conference League playoffs, but given the mood of the red-whites in the Europa League, hardly anyone in Rui Vitoria's team is seriously thinking about such a demotion.
Spartak continues to perform poorly in the Russian championship, taking only ninth place, but Legia's situation in the domestic arena is even more deplorable – it is in the relegation zone, having the same number of points as the last-placed Gurnik. Last weekend, the Varshavians lost again in the Polish championship, losing away to Cracovia (0:1). Spartak players managed to get a tough victory over Akhmat at home (2:1), playing in the minority for most of the match.
Both teams are determined only to win the match, especially Legia, for which even a draw will be a defeat, since it leaves no chance even for third place in the group. Vasily Utkin is convinced that the teams will go ahead and score, so the match will be productive.
